Robert Tomkinson has held a variety of roles in the marketing industry since 1999. Robert began their career as a Principal at Athena Technology Ventures, where they were responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiation and deal closing, serving on Board of Directors, and supporting firm-building and fund-raising. Robert then joined eBay in 2004 as Head of Internet & Relationship Marketing, where they were responsible for all online marketing activities of eBay, Australia's dominant e-commerce marketplace. Robert then moved on to become Head of Motors & New Ventures and Senior Manager of Marketplace Efficiency. In 2008, Tomkinson joined eBay Advertising as Global Marketing Director and Managing Director & Country Manager, where they were responsible for P&L, strategy, sales & marketing, financial and legal operations for Shopping.com in Australia. In 2010, they moved on to become Senior Director of Marketing at Playfish, where they were responsible for all direct-to-consumer marketing for EA/Playfish's portfolio of freemium social and mobile games. In 2012, they joined Electronic Arts as Senior Director of Digital Marketing and Network Strategy. In 2017, Tomkinson became VP of Marketing at on-demand tech services start-up Puls and a Board Member at Girls on the Run of the Bay Area. In 2019, they joined Yelp as Head of Digital Marketing, Senior Director of Acquisition and Retention. Most recently, in 2021, they became VP of Marketing at CoPilot, a start-up delivering a delightful, disruptive, data-rich app for car shoppers, buyers, and owners.

Robert Tomkinson attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 1997 to 1999 and obtained an MBA in Internet Marketing. Prior to that, they attended the University of Oxford and obtained a BA in Experimental Psychology.
