Melissa Lukin

Executive Director at Cora

Melissa Lukin has extensive experience in various leadership and management roles. Melissa served as the Executive Director at CORA, where they were responsible for providing prevention and crisis intervention services for victims of intimate partner violence. Melissa oversaw and managed a $3.7 million budget. Prior to that, they worked at the Volunteer Center of San Mateo County as the Co-Manager, where they successfully increased the number of participating agencies from 12 to 250. Melissa designed and conducted workshops for approximately 250 participants per year. Melissa also served as the Director of Summer Programs at Beaver Country Day School, managing one of the largest day/specialty camps in the U.S. for children ages three to fifteen. Additionally, they founded and managed their own consulting firm, Lukin & Associates, specializing in leadership development for Fortune 100 businesses, K-12 institutions, and nonprofits. Melissa obtained public funding and conducted trainings for teachers on applying experiential, adventure-based education to the classroom. Earlier in their career, they were the Director of the Somerville Wilderness Program, where they planned and directed an adventure education program for at-risk teens, expanded the funding base, and implemented new procedures for employee performance appraisal and program evaluation.

Melissa Lukin completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Brown University. Melissa then went on to earn a Master of Business Administration degree in Public/Nonprofit Management from Boston University. Prior to this, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Language Arts Teacher Education at Brown University.
