Nicholas McMaster has been a professional musician since 2007, when they became a founding member, bass player, composer, and graphic designer for the New York-based rock band Krallice. With Krallice, they released eight albums, each one rated over 7.0 by Pitchfork. From 2019-2021, McMaster worked as a software engineer at CoreChain Technologies, a React developer intern at Upstate, and a frontend developer at Knowt. At Knowt, they added animations to static views using the Framer Motion library, participated in refactoring the codebase into function components with hooks, helped implement the Context API, and created responsive components with the Material-UI library. McMaster also worked as a writer at Newser from 2007-2019.
Nicholas McMaster obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Chicago in 2007. In March 2019, they received a Build Front-End Web Apps From Scratch Pro Intensive Completion Certificate from Codecademy.
