Damien Murphy

Damien Murphy has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning throughout several companies and roles. Damien started their career as a Technical Support Engineer at CARA in Dublin, Ireland in 1992. Damien then worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at CompuCom/IMS in San Francisco, CA, USA, where they were involved in a large-scale project for Pacific Gas Transmission.

After that, Damien joined Price Waterhouse as a Senior Networking Analyst before moving on to LAN Communications, the first Cisco reseller in Ireland, where they worked as a Networking Consultant. Damien gained their first experience in a start-up environment and witnessed its growth.

Later, they joined BT/CARA as a Senior Consultant, specializing in Microsoft Infrastructure, storage, Citrix desktop virtualization, and networking. Damien was involved in the acquisition of CARA by Groupe Bull and its subsequent acquisition by British Telecom.

Damien then worked for Gen-i Australia, a subsidiary of Spark Digital, as a Senior Consultant, focusing on presales, solutions design, and technical documentation QA. Damien was one of the earliest hires when Gen-i entered the Australian marketplace.

Damien joined Riverbed Technology in 2005 as a Senior Director, Solutions Engineering, becoming a part of the ANZ team, where they played a crucial role in architecting innovative SD-WAN, WAN Optimization, and Network and Application Performance Management solutions. Damien also led the Xirrus technical team in EMEA and contributed to the growth of Riverbed in the region.

Recently, Damien worked at Corelight, Inc as the Director of Solutions Engineering for EMEA, responsible for driving customer success and leading the solutions engineering team.

Damien Murphy attended University College Dublin from 1988 to 1992, where they earned a B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.
