Simeon Miteff

Simeon Miteff is a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in security research, software engineering, and network operations. Currently serving as a Senior Security Researcher at Corelight since May 2022, Simeon has developed YARA integration for static file analysis and focuses on NDR detection engine R&D. Prior roles include Senior Software Engineer at Xerra Earth Observation Institute, where software applications were developed primarily in Go and Python, and Network Operations Manager at Berkeley Lab, overseeing engineering teams for network support and cybersecurity projects. Simeon has also held key positions with organizations such as Faucet Foundation, TENET, CSIR, University of Cape Town, and University of Pretoria. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Electrical and Information Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Information Technology from respective institutions.
