Steve Smoot is currently the VP of Customer Success at Corelight. Prior to this, they were the Founder and CTO of Odge, a company that delivers fresh data to favorite tools such as Excel, Slack, and Messenger. Before Odge, Steve spent 11 years at Riverbed Technology where they grew the company from 10 to 2600 people and from $0 to a $1.1 billion business. At Riverbed, Steve focused on enabling customer success with the technology and ran various departments including Sales Engineering, Technical Support, IT, Technical Marketing, Technical Publications, Training, and Professional Services. Steve also has experience in product management, solutions architecture, platforms, and manufacturing.

Dr. Steve Smoot is a computer scientist who holds a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. Steve also holds two BS degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, one in computer science and mathematics and the other in computer science and math. Dr. Smoot's educational career began at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, where they were a student. Steve then attended JEB Stuart and Johns Hopkins Center For Talented Youth (CTY).
