A.J. Arango has held a variety of roles in the past two decades. In 2001, they were a Financial Analyst at Morgan Stanley (Smith Barney). From 2013 to 2016, they were a Director of Business Analytics at W.J. Bradley Mortgage Capital, LLC and a Controls Team Lead at Western Union. In 2017, they became a Director of Business Intelligence at Centerstreet Lending. In 2020, they were a Project Manager Scrum Master at CACI International Inc. and currently holds the role of Director of Engineering at Corellium.

A.J. Arango's education history includes a Bachelor of Science in Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology from Florida State University, obtained between 1997 and 1999. A.J. also completed postgraduate study in Finance, General at California State University, Fullerton between 2001 and 2002. In 2004 and 2005, they completed a Joint Special Operation Medical Training Course, earning a Field Trauma Surgeon qualification in Trauma Medicine. Between 2002 and 2005, they also completed the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare School, earning a Special Forces Medical Sergeant qualification in Unconventional Warfare and International Conflict Resolution. A.J. Arango also holds additional certifications, including a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (obtained in June 2021), a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² (obtained in July 2019), a GIAC Mobile Device Security Analyst (GMOB) from GIAC Certifications (obtained in March 2019), a Top Secret / SCI Poly from the United States Department of Defense (obtained in January 2019), and several Coursera Course Certificates in Exploratory Data Analysis in R, Getting and Cleaning Data, Reproducible Research, and R Programming (all obtained in 2015). A.J. also holds a Defense Language Proficiency Test from the United States Department of Defense (obtained in September 2008) and an Advanced Tactical Practitioner ATP from the United States Department of Defense (obtained in January 2006).
