Malcolm Dodds has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and architecture. Malcolm started their career as a Software Engineer at 3Com in 1999, where they worked on various projects related to firewall and IPS devices. Malcolm eventually became a Principal Software Engineer, leading the development of new features and playing a key role in the company's open source firewall effort.
In 2010, Dodds joined Hewlett-Packard as an Engineering Manager, responsible for leading teams and overseeing projects. Malcolm transitioned to the role of Functional Architect for TippingPoint, where they defined and drove the implementation of features across products. Malcolm also served as the product owner for the NGFW product, working collaboratively with multiple scrum teams.
Dodds then joined Corero Network Security in 2015 as a Distinguished Software Engineer. In this role, they contributed significantly to the development of the company's products and architecture. Malcolm later assumed the position of Software Architect and continues to make valuable contributions to the company's software development processes.

Malcolm Dodds completed their secondary education at Larbert High School from 1990 to 1995. Afterward, they went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at The University of Edinburgh, where they studied from 1995 to 1999.
