Roger Basu

CTO & Co-Founder at Coreshell Technologies

Roger Basu is the CTO and Co-Founder of Coreshell Technologies. Prior to co-founding Coreshell in 2017, Roger worked as a Materials Scientist for 10+ years in the solar and electrochemistry fields. At Solexant, renamed SivaPower in 2013, a thin film solar cell company, Roger was an integral part of a small team that achieved world-record efficiencies for substrate CdTe and CZTS devices. Roger developed liquid-phase deposition processes for coating of CdS and ZnS n-type layers on CdTe, CZTS and CIGS solar cells and successfully transferred such processes to large-scale roll-to-roll CSD tools. At Heliotrope, he was employee number three, and developed numerous key processes to scale Heliotrope’s lithium-ion electrochromic technology from 1”x1” lab-scale samples to durable 4”x4” prototypes that met ASTM standards.

Roger holds a Masters of Science in Material Science and Engineering and bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry, Material Science and Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
