John Chien

John Chien is an experienced database professional currently serving as Chapter Lead and DBA Lead at EROAD since December 2021, where responsibilities include optimizing database performance and maintaining secure data architecture. Prior to EROAD, Chien held the DBA Lead position at Coretex since September 2015, specializing in SQL Server database administration and performance tuning. Chien also served as Database Team Lead and Database Administrator at Imarda from June 2013 to September 2015, and as SQL Server DBA at APN News & Media from November 2008 to June 2013, where tasks included database management and ETL data migrations. Earlier experience includes a role as a Software Developer at Gorilla Technology. Chien holds a Master of Information Technology focused on Data Modeling/Warehousing and Database Administration from Queensland University of Technology and a Bachelor of Computer Science with a concentration in Information Systems from the University of Auckland.
