Keith Kaplan

Chief Medical Officer at Corista

Keith J. Kaplan, MD serves as the company’s Chief Medical Officer. In this role, Dr. Kaplan contributes to both the development of Corista’s digital pathology platform, and to expanding the market awareness of how Corista’s platforms can materially improve the delivery of pathology while improving patient care.

Dr. Kaplan is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. A graduate of Michigan State University, and Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. Kaplan completed his residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC. While at Walter Reed, in conjunction with the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Dr. Kaplan founded and directed the Army Telepathology Program. This Program connected 25 hospitals internationally for consultation via telepathology

Dr. Kaplan was also with Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota as an Associate Professor of Pathology of Mayo Medical School. At Carolinas Health Systems in Charlotte, NC, Dr. Kaplan held the Pathology Informatics Chair as CIO of Pathology practice.

Dr. Kaplan currently serves as a member of the College of American Pathologists, American Society of Clinical Pathology and the American Society of Cytopathology as well as the American Pathology Foundation. He is an executive board member of the American Pathology Foundation. Dr. Kaplan is the publisher of tissuepathology.com, the industry’s leading pathology blog, and a contributor to Corista’s blog.
