John Wei, PhD, MBA, is a Senior Director at Applied Ventures, specializing in venture investments in semiconductor, computing infrastructure, AI/ML, advanced manufacturing, robotics, advanced materials, and sustainability. Prior to this role, John was a key member of the SABIC Ventures investment team, where they led multiple investments across North America, Europe, and Asia. John's earlier career included various commercial and technical roles at The Linde Group and General Electric, focused on the petrochemical, power generation, and alternative energy sectors. They hold a Bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University, a PhD and Master's in Computer Science from Rutgers University, and an MBA from UCLA with an emphasis on Finance and Entrepreneurship.
