John Asker

John Asker is a distinguished academic and economist currently serving as the Armen A. Alchian Chair in Economic Theory and Professor of Economics at the University of California, Los Angeles since July 2014. Additionally, John Asker has held the position of Senior Advisor at Cornerstone Research since December 2014 and is the Editor for the Journal of Political Economy, starting February 2023. Previously, John Asker served as Co-editor for the American Economic Journal: Micro until December 2022 and as Editor for the RAND Journal of Economics and the Journal of Industrial Economics. With a background as an Associate and Assistant Professor of Economics at NYU Stern School of Business from September 2004 to September 2014, John Asker earned a PhD from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Economics from The Australian National University.
