James Smith

James Smith is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in program management and process optimization. Currently serving as an Engineering Solutions Program Manager at Corning Incorporated since June 2012, James leads global programs that align with the OCS Division strategy, focusing on strategic customer needs. Previous roles at Corning included Process Engineer, where James ensured the optimization of machining processes, and Maintenance and Tooling Supervisor, managing production maintenance teams. Prior to Corning, James served in the US Navy, where responsibilities included leading a planning team as an Engineering Support Division Officer and managing construction projects as a Construction Manager. James holds a Master of Engineering in Project Management from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy.
