Stuart Smith's work experience began in 1983 as a Research Assistant at North Staffordshire Polytechnic. Stuart then became a Lecturer at North Stafforshire Polytec in 1984. In 1985, Stuart worked as an Electronic Design Engineer at Siemens until 1987 when they moved to Eurosil GmbH for the same role. From 1989 to 1997, Stuart worked as a Contract Software and Hardware Developer for various companies, including Optimay, Eurosil, Siemens, and Miles Software GmbH. During this time, they designed the digital part of an electronic car key, laid out test structures for a 64Mbit DRAM process node, designed a hardware accelerator for a GSM base station tester, and wrote a Mac floppy disk driver using co-routines. In 1997, Stuart joined Adaptec, Inc as a Senior Software Engineer until 1999. In the same year, they co-founded Elgato Software and served as the VP of Hardware Engineering. Stuart remained in this role until 2018. In 2018, they joined Corsair as Director of R & D.
Stuart Smith completed their undergraduate degree, a BSc in Physics and Electronic Engineering, from Bangor University. Stuart attended the university from 1979 to 1983.
