Michael Sweeney has extensive experience in brand protection and legal affairs, currently serving as Vice President of Brand Protection, Legal Affairs and Policy at Corsearch since May 2018. Prior roles include Director of Brand Protection and Head of IP, and Senior Legal Counsel at Corsearch, as well as a secondment as Global Head of Brand Protection for a global leader in fashion and luxury. Michael's previous experience includes positions as Senior Legal Counsel at INCOPRO and Time Inc. UK, Intellectual Property Lawyer at BBC, and interim Group Legal Counsel at Shine Group. Michael also worked as a Supervising Associate at Simmons & Simmons and as a Solicitor at Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP. Michael's legal career began as a Trainee Solicitor at Bird & Bird. Educational qualifications include a PgDL in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Aberdeen.
