Cao Jun

Research Scientist

Cao Jun is an accomplished research scientist with extensive experience in genomics and bioinformatics. At Corteva Agriscience since April 2019, Cao Jun has focused on genomics data infrastructure on AWS and applications of deep learning in genomics. Prior to this role, at Dow AgroSciences from 2012 to 2019, significant contributions were made in building large-scale genomics data analysis pipelines and leading various integration and data infrastructure initiatives. As a postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute from 2007 to 2012, Cao Jun led the international 1001 Genomes project, coordinated data generation, and developed bioinformatics frameworks for genomic analyses. Earlier experience as a research assistant at Iowa State University from 1999 to 2007 involved the development of gene expression profiling assays and genetic experiments related to maize lines. Cao Jun holds a Bachelor's degree in Genetics from Sun Yat-Sen University and a PhD in Molecular Genetics from Iowa State University.
