Nicholas Mongar

Senior Research Associate, Protein Engineering

Nicholas Mongar is an accomplished researcher with extensive experience in agronomic traits and protein engineering. With a B.S. in Biochemistry from Iowa State University and an MBA from the University of Iowa, Nicholas began a career at Iowa State University in the Hargrove Lab focusing on cellulase and xylanase for biofuel production. Subsequently, at DuPont Pioneer, Julian characterized nitrogen utilization leads and developed assays for their physiological assessment. From August 2015 to February 2019, Nicholas served as a Senior Research Associate at Corteva, engaged in molecular characterization and pipeline nomination of research leads. Currently, as a Senior Research Associate in Protein Engineering at Corteva Agriscience, Nicholas specializes in the discovery and engineering of novel insecticidal proteins for major crops, employing advanced techniques to mitigate phytotoxicity.
