Deb Roy

Deb Roy is an accomplished academic and entrepreneur with extensive experience in artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and media analytics. Currently serving as Director of the MIT Center for Constructive Communication and a Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Deb Roy also co-founded and leads Cortico, a venture focused on enhancing public discourse through advanced technology. Previous roles include Executive Director of the MIT Media Lab and Chief Media Scientist at Twitter, along with co-founding Bluefin Labs, a pioneering social TV analytics company. Deb Roy earned a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science from MIT, where a significant academic career has included directing the Laboratory for Social Machines and chairing the Graduate Program in Media Arts & Sciences.
