Director Of Risk Management And Compliance at Cory Group

Chris Jones has extensive work experience in the waste management and environmental industry. Chris has been involved with the Waste Industry Safety and Health Forum since its inception in 2001 and currently holds the position of Chairman. Through the forum, they have successfully coordinated campaigns aimed at reducing accident and ill health rates in the sector. Additionally, Chris has played a key role in drawing together organizations to collaborate on generating best practice guidance, resulting in the adoption of this model in Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Eire.

Since 1989, Chris has been working for Cory Environmental as the Director of Risk Management and Compliance. In this role, they have provided corporate oversight and guidance in the areas of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), devising and implementing risk management strategies, and managing insurance placements. Furthermore, they have been responsible for managing operations at multiple locations and overseeing a large workforce.

Before joining Cory Environmental, Chris worked at Lafarge Aluminates as a Section Manager for Quality Control from 1983 to 1989.

Chris Jones completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry from The University of Sheffield between 1980 and 1983. Chris later pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics from The Open University, which they obtained between 1988 and 1996.
