Tom Smith

Tom Smith is a highly experienced design and powertrain engineer with a strong background in motorsport and high-performance engineering. Currently serving as a Design Engineer at Cosworth since July 2019, Tom leads projects involving design consultancy for motorsport, hypercars, and marine applications, notably developing a high-performance hybrid UAV for the US military and working on coolant and oil systems for renowned vehicles such as the Aston Martin Valkyrie. Prior experience includes significant roles in prestigious companies such as Integral Powertrain, MERCEDES AMG High Performance Powertrains, Jaguar Land Rover, Cubewano Ltd, and Willans, where Tom contributed to various innovative projects ranging from electric drive motors to Formula One power units and motorsport safety devices. Tom holds a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Warwick.
