Edwin Apel III

Edwin (Trey) Apel III, PhD, PG, is a probabilistic seismic hazard analyst and professional geologist with expertise in geology, geotechnical engineering, and seismology. They served as an Adjunct Professor of Geology at Diablo Valley College from 2010 to 2015, developing lesson plans and advising students. Currently, they work as a Principal Scientist at Cotality and have extensive experience in catastrophe modeling and hazard assessment from positions at RMS and Geomatrix Consultants. Trey obtained a PhD in Geophysics from the University of California, Berkeley, and holds dual bachelor's degrees in Geological Engineering and Geology from the University of Idaho.
