Michele Wallace

Michele Wallace, LCACP, is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in sustainability and textile chemistry. Currently serving as the Director of Sustainability Standards Development at Cotton Incorporated since May 1998, Michele coordinates external sustainability research and leads industry standards development with organizations such as ASTM International and ISO. Previous roles include Director and Associate Director positions focusing on product integrity and sustainability research, where responsibilities included managing safety compliance, department budgets, and external research projects. Michele's expertise in chemical processes is supported by a Master of Science in Textile Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from North Carolina State University. Early career experience includes research internships, contributing to yarn dyeing optimization and flame retardant finishes.
