Dave Finlay

Dave Finlay is a seasoned engineering executive with extensive experience in leading technology teams and developing distributed platforms. Currently serving as VP of Engineering at Couchbase since June 2014, Dave oversees critical components of the Couchbase distributed platform, including cluster management and various software tools. Prior to this role, Dave held senior leadership positions at Ariba from 2002 to June 2014, including Senior Director of Engineering, where responsibilities included leading the Ariba Platform team and serving as Principal Architect. Early career experience includes staff engineer roles at Vitria, lead software engineer at OOCL, and a management associate position at Decision Focus Inc. Dave is equipped with educational backgrounds from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and University College Dublin.
