Wayne Carter

Wayne Carter is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in the technology sector, currently serving as Vice President of Engineering for Cloud at Couchbase since 2013, where Wayne leads the development of Couchbase Capella, a premier DBaaS solution for mobile, IoT, and edge computing applications. Previously, Wayne held various engineering leadership roles at Couchbase, including Vice President of Engineering for Mobile & Edge and Senior Director of Engineering for Mobile, where responsibilities included managing end-to-end program development and building a global team. Prior to Couchbase, Wayne worked at Oracle from 2006 to 2013 as an Architect and Principal Software Engineer, focusing on mobile sales solutions. Earlier experience includes leading software engineering teams at Siebel Systems from 2000 to 2006, with a foundation in quality assurance engineering. Wayne holds a BS in Business Administration from Samford University and further education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
