• Collect and analyse the documentary needs of our members; evaluate, negotiate and organise the purchase of documentary resources
• Promote a national resource acquisition policy aimed at guaranteeing equal access to IST for the entire scientific community (ISTEX project)
• Encourage free scholarly communication through the development of open repositories and open science
• Develop a national network of expertise and exchange in the field of electronic resources, particularly in terms of acquisition policies, information systems, usage statistics, etc.
• Contribute to the development of French-language content publishing.

COUPERIN has built and developed a national network of expertise and exchanges, and developed skills to better manage the strategic and technological challenges associated with the management, publication and dissemination of scientific and technical information. Its work focuses in particular on online publications by institutions, open repositories, usage statistics for electronic resources, long-term archiving, e-books and electronic resource management.
