Jackson Carr is the CEO of Covalence. Jackson has a background in data engineering, having worked for BBVA in the USA from December 2015 to May 2017. In their previous role, they developed and maintained production-level Python, Java, Scala, and Spark code that interfaced with core internal banking systems (Alnova) and external vendors' APIs (Bing, AdSense, Criteo, etc.) in order to transform data into more suitable and manageable formats, such as Avro and Parquet, for long-term storage and faster delivery to end-users within the bank.
Jackson Carr was instrumental in helping transition the burgeoning Big Data team from a Waterfall-like workflow to an Agile one (Scrum) by managing daily Scrum Master responsibilities, such as building product backlogs and prioritizing Jira tasks for upcoming and active sprints. Jackson also created business requirements and user stories for the advent of an automated test-driven development suite for Data Engineering.
Jackson Carr has a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from University of Alabama at Birmingham and a High School Diploma from Corner High School. Jackson is currently studying Computer Programming and Specific Applications at Covalence.
