Qi Chen

Qi Chen is a Senior Scientist at Covestro since April 2021, previously serving as a Senior Scientist Analytical at DSM from May 2011 to April 2021. In the role at DSM, Qi led the Surface Characterization section and supported new concept development and corporate research programs, while collaborating with Application departments and external research partners. Prior experience includes roles at DSM as a Scientist 2 and Scientist, focusing on surface characterization of water-based coatings, as well as early academic positions as a Postdoc and PhD student at the University of Twente, specializing in surface adhesion and the preparation of nanocontainers for enzymatic reactions. Qi holds a PhD in Materials Science and Technology of Polymers from the University of Twente and has a background in developing novel contact lens materials.
