Dan Yang

Dan Yang, PhD, PE, PEng, serves as the Leading Geotechnical Specialist at COWI North America, a position held since January 1996, where expertise is applied in managing and providing technical leadership for large-scale design-build projects involving bridges, tunnels, and marine structures. Previous roles at COWI include Chief Specialist in Geotechnical and Foundation, focusing on bridge foundation design and soil-structure interaction, and Technical Lead for geotechnical and foundation aspects of major bridge projects. Academically, Dan Yang contributed to the field as an Assistant Professor at Wuhan University, responsible for teaching and researching geotechnical engineering. Dan Yang holds a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Maryland, as well as multiple degrees in Civil, Ocean, and Structural Engineering from Memorial University and Zhejiang University.
