Michael Wheaton

Michael Wheaton is the Head of Discipline and Senior Bridge Engineer at COWI, where they currently lead engineering initiatives. They bring extensive experience in project management and structural engineering, having previously served as Division Manager for Vancouver Bridge Engineering at McElhanney. Michael has also held roles at Beca, focusing on seismic assessments and retrofit designs following the 2011 Christchurch Earthquakes, and at Glotman Simpson Consulting Engineers, where they contributed to iconic tall building projects. They earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, both with First Class Honours, from the University of Auckland.
