Umer Ilyas

Umer Ilyas has a diverse work experience in various technology-related fields. Umer is currently the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Cowlar Design Studio, where they focus on end-to-end product development and technology solutions. Umer's expertise lies in areas such as IoT, robotics, enterprise software, mobile applications, industrial automation, digital transformation, cybersecurity, computer vision, machine learning, AI, human-machine interfaces, and automotive product design.

Prior to their current role, Umer was also the Co-Founder and CTO at Cowlar, a company known for their flagship product, a cow collar that tracks animal motion and behavior. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they initiated a new business unit called Cowlar Design Studio.

Before their time at Cowlar, Umer worked as the Co-Founder and CTO at E4 Technologies, specializing in IoT product design and development. Umer'sresponsibilities included overseeing fast-track multidisciplinary product development, combining skills in electronics, firmware, software, smart metering, ultra-low power applications, industrial design, and product engineering.

Umer also has experience as an Embedded Systems Engineer at Powersoft19, where they designed and implemented embedded safety critical applications for life-saving industrial equipment. Umer'swork involved developing firmware for gas leakage detection equipment and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Earlier in their career, Umer worked as a Design Engineer (R&D) at KBK Electronics (Pvt.) Ltd., where they focused on firmware development for a static three-phase energy meter in compliance with metering standards. Umer used C/C++ and worked with Teridian 71M6513 System on-chip (SoC) and an MSP430 micro-controller.

Umer Ilyas attended the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) from 2006 to 2010, where they pursued their Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering.
