Damien Whaley

Damien Whaley is an experienced cybersecurity professional currently serving as the Director of Network Security and Data Protection at Cox Communications since February 2008. In this role, Damien has successfully implemented the Zscaler remote access solution to enhance zero trust networking capabilities and introduced a risk-based automated firewall rule review process that significantly reduced resolution time. Previously, Damien has held various leadership positions within Cox, including Director of Product Security, where responsibilities included ensuring that new products met security requirements, and Senior Manager of Security Architecture, leading the Security Architecture team. Earlier in the career, Damien worked at Eventus Group as a Security Practice Manager, providing tailored security solutions, and at CyberGuard as a Senior Network Security Engineer, supporting high-stakes clients with advanced cybersecurity products. Damien holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of South Florida.
