Derek Kogut

Derek Kogut is a highly experienced Cyber Risk and Compliance Manager at Cox Communications since March 2021, where significant achievements include leading the PAM enforcement project that resulted in 15,000 additional PAM compliant servers and maintaining strict budget control with only a 1% variance. Prior to this role, Derek served as an Identity Management Consultant and Lead OIM Developer at Cox Enterprises for six years, enhancing the identity management system from one to over 20 applications. Earlier career experiences include positions as a Senior Consultant at APTEC, LLC, an Application Developer at BlueCross BlueShield of SC, a Math Teacher at Saluda High School, and a Human Intelligence Team Leader in the United States Army Reserve. Derek holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Springfield, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, as well as several associate degrees in Military Intelligence and Arabic.
