Michael Gilchrist served in the US Navy as a Petty Officer First Class from 1977 to 1983, where they were responsible for the maintenance and operation of shipboard entertainment systems. They later held multiple positions at Time Warner Cable from 1986 to 1996, including Plant Maintenance Technician and Supervisor, overseeing teams of technicians. Michael transitioned to Cox Communications, working from 1998 to 2015 as a Corporate Field Service Manager and NE Area Technical Consultant, where they developed and implemented training for new product launches. They graduated from Royal High School in 1975.
