Michael Schmidt

Michael Schmidt serves as the Vice Chair of the National Labor and Employment Department and Office Managing Partner in the New York Midtown office at Cozen O'Connor since April 2005. With a distinguished career in labor law, Schmidt has also held roles as a shareholder in the Labor & Employment Group and previously worked as an attorney at Fischbein Badillo Wagner Harding LLP and McMillan, Rather, Bennett & Rigano, P.C. Schmidt contributed to legal education as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Touro Law Center from 2002 to 2014, teaching a course on employment law. In addition to legal practice, Schmidt has been dedicated to community service, serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors for After-School All-Stars in New York since 1996, advocating for positive alternatives for underprivileged youth. Schmidt's education includes a Doctor of Law (JD) with Distinction from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and a B.A. with Honors from Brandeis University.
