Matt Glanville

VP of Business Development, Sydney Operations at CPP Wind

Dr. Matthew Glanville was a founding director of Cermak Peterka Petersen Pty. Ltd. in Sydney, Australia, in 2007. He now maintains a technical and business development focus in Australia and globally.

Matt undertook his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Sydney, which led to 10 international publications on wind tunnel testing, full-scale structural monitoring, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Over the last 25 years, Matt has managed projects throughout Australia, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas in the fields of wind engineering and building physics.

Some of Matt’s notable Australian domestic building industry experience includes several Sydney 2000 Olympics projects, Sydney Crown Tower, Optus Stadium Perth, Queens Wharf Brisbane, and Etihad Stadium Melbourne. International projects include Felda and Ilham Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore Sports Hub, Royal Ratchdamri Bangkok, BaSon Ho Chi Minh City, Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta, Girgaon Tower Mumbai, Badrah Towers Dubai, Nuevo Estadio Leon Mexico, and 2nd & Virginia in Seattle, Washington. Matt has established a CPP office in Kuala Lumpur, is an APEC business travel cardholder, and has placed CPP as a finalist in the Master Builders and NSW Premier’s Export Awards for two years running.

Matt is a member of the BD006-02 (Wind Actions) committee for Standards Australia, responsible for AS/NZS 1170.2:2011. He regularly presents at industry conferences and publishes in engineering circulations, provides peer review for several journal publications, and is a member of the Australasian Wind Engineering Society. Matt has provided expert testimony at the NSW Land and Environment Court over many years.

Matt has received several industry awards, including the Prize for Greatest Proficiency in Civil Engineering Design from the Association of Consulting Structural Engineers of NSW and a Japan Science and Technology Corporation STA Fellowship in Wind Engineering. Matt has a keen interest in cycling aerodynamics. He has enjoyed competitive road and track cycling throughout his career, being a UCI Masters World Champion in 2015 and a current Australian Masters record holder.
