Ian Preyra

Ian Preyra serves as the President and Chair of the Board of Directors at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and is involved as a Council Member, Peer Assessor, and Discipline Committee Member. Additionally, Ian holds the position of Chair for the Physician Leadership Network at the Ontario Hospital Association and has been the Chief of Staff and Chief Medical Officer at Joseph Brant Hospital & Foundation since 2018. Ian maintains a role as Team Emergency Physician for the Toronto Maple Leafs and previously worked as an Investigative Coroner for the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General. Ian's extensive experience includes roles at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, Charlton Medical Holdings Inc., and William Osler Health System. Academically, Ian has earned numerous degrees, including a Doctor of Medicine from Queen's University and an MBA from Schulich School of Business, alongside advanced leadership training from Harvard University and a Chartered Director designation from McMaster University. Ian is also pursuing executive education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
