Eric Walters joined Crain as Purchasing Manager in 2014, and was promoted to Director of Procurement and Facilities in 2018. In his role, Eric develops and manages the strategic plans, budgets and goals of the Procurement and Facilities departments across Crain.
Eric directs the Procurement department on all purchasing initiatives to achieve significant cost reductions while maintaining and improving product selection and vendor service levels. He performs and carries out strategic sourcing processes while managing several simultaneous competitive sourcing projects with complex contract negotiations to lower total cost of ownership. Eric leads the Facilities department and property management team, including execution of daily operations to enhance productivity and safety for employees and tenants.
Prior to Crain, Eric was the Manager of Global Procurement at Compuware from 1999-2014 and a Buyer at St. John Hospital from 1993-1999. Eric has degrees from Northwood University and Walsh College in Business Administration, and assists with the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation D2D Buyer Council.
