Gary Ballas is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in high-reliability aerospace and defense applications. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering - Modular Power at Crane Aerospace & Electronics, Gary oversees the development of advanced DC-DC converters for critical markets. Previous roles include Vice President of Engineering at Gladiator Technologies, where Gary focused on precision MEMS Inertial Measurement Units, and Chief Technology Officer at Epoch Medical Innovations, where a compression-based medical device for amputees was developed. At AvtechTyee, Gary managed engineering and quality for over $1B in aerospace products and coordinated FAA certification activities. Experience at Honeywell Aerospace involved leading a large multidisciplinary product team for high-precision accelerometers and mentoring engineering staff. Early in the career, Gary worked at AlliedSignal and GE Nuclear Energy, contributing to MEMS device design and advanced reactor components, respectively. Gary holds a BSME from the University of Washington and an MSME from San José State University.
