Derek Paterson has been working in the IT industry for over 20 years. Derek began their career as a Development Officer at the City of Edinburgh Council in April 1989. Derek worked on a variety of IT projects, including the council's early intranet, interfacing with other agencies and new technology implementation. In September 2000, Derek left the council to join Craneware as their Chief Information Officer. Derek is responsible for all aspects of Craneware's IT operations, from infrastructure and applications to security and business continuity. Derek has played a key role in Craneware's growth and success, and is widely respected within the IT industry.
Derek Paterson's educational career began with him studying mathematics and computer science at Edinburgh Napier University.
