Christopher McKenna has a diverse work experience in various research and engineering roles. Christopher is currently working at Creare as an Engineer since 2020. Prior to that, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Tennessee Space Institute from 2017 to 2020. In this role, they worked with the HORIZON group and AFRL/RQHX branch, conducting experiments and contributing to the design and analysis of unique experiments.
From 2013 to 2017, Christopher McKenna was a Lead Researcher at Lehigh University's Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. Christopher was responsible for conducting their own studies and directing the investigations of others. Christopher'sresearch focused on the interaction between a streamwise-oriented vortex and a wing, with applications in various technologies. Christopher utilized particle image velocimetry for data collection.
Before that, from 2010 to 2012, they worked as a Research Assistant at Lafayette College, where they contributed to the design and construction of a turbulence research water channel. Christopher also conducted investigations on coherent turbulent structures using dye visualization and laser Doppler velocimetry.
Christopher McKenna's work experience also includes a role as a Controls Technician at Hatfield Quality Meats from 2009 to 2012.
Christopher McKenna earned their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lafayette College, where they attended from 2008 to 2012. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a higher-level education at Lehigh University, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering during the years 2012 to 2017.
