Brigitte Vézina

Brigitte Vézina currently serves as the Director of Policy and Open Culture and previously held the position of Policy Manager at Creative Commons since January 2020. In addition, Brigitte has been a Policy Consultant at CultureBridge since September 2016, providing intellectual property and copyright policy advice for various organizations, including Europeana and SPARC Europe. Brigitte is also a Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation within the International Law Research Program, a role held since April 2017. Prior professional experience includes serving as a Legal Officer at the World Intellectual Property Organization from July 2006 to September 2016, a Consultant at UNESCO from October 2005 to June 2006, and a Lawyer at ROBIC Lawyers from May 2003 to June 2004. Earlier roles include internships at BDC and the International Labour Organization. Brigitte holds a Master’s Degree in Law from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Université de Montréal, along with a Baccalauréat and other secondary qualifications from various educational institutions.
