Marta Belcher

Marta Belcher serves as President and Chair of the Filecoin Foundation and the Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web, positions held since 2020. Additionally, Marta is the Board President and a Board Member of the Blockchain Association and serves as a Board Member for the Crypto Council for Innovation, Creative Commons, and the Zcash Foundation. As General Counsel and Head of Policy at Protocol Labs, Marta has been instrumental since February 2019 and also acts as Special Counsel for the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Marta's earlier experience includes working as an Attorney focusing on Blockchain and Emerging Technologies at Ropes & Gray LLP and interning at the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Marta holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School, where Marta was the commencement speaker, and a summa cum laude B.A. in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley, alongside studies at Freie Universität Berlin.
