Michael Balsamo

CTO at Creator

Michael Balsamo has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting in 2006, they worked as an intern at GreenMountain Engineering, where they designed and fabricated prototypes for solar concentrators and solar energy storage devices. In 2007, they joined General Motors as an Applications Engineer and later became a Project Engineer, overseeing the release of new products and collaborating with manufacturers. In 2009, Balsamo joined Tesla Motors as a Lead Transmission Engineer, where they were responsible for the design, testing, and manufacturing of gearbox components. Michael also worked on powertrain and transmission design considerations for electric vehicles. In 2014, they joined Creator as a Hardware Engineer and later took on roles as Director of Hardware Engineering, VP of NPI, and finally CTO. In these positions, Balsamo led teams in the research, development, and production of automated kitchen equipment, emphasizing collaboration and effective communication. Currently, Balsamo serves as the President and CTO of Cucina, Inc.

Michael Balsamo completed their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania from 2001 to 2005. Following this, they pursued their Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Design Methodology at Stanford University from 2005 to 2006. In June 2013, they obtained the Professional Engineer certification from the State of California.
