James Willans

James Willans is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in managing and transforming technology functions across various industries. Currently serving as Managing Director and Head of Technology at Credera since August 2020, Willans oversees a team of approximately 150, delivering strategic cloud, data, software engineering, and marketing technology solutions for clients. Previously, as Chief Technology Officer at Lhasa Limited, significant advancements were made in product architecture and enterprise security. Willans' tenure at HSBC included pivotal roles such as Global Head of Digital Platform Architecture, where world-class digital capabilities were developed, and leadership positions that enabled a $200 million transformation through API architecture. Earlier career achievements include contributions as Software Delivery Head at Lhasa Limited and a Senior Developer and Architect in earlier roles, including a founding member position at Xactium. Willans holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of York and a BSc from Keele University.
