Steve Nery

Steve Nery has a wealth of experience in the software engineering and web development fields. Steve began their career in 2005 as a News Editor for Chesapeake Publishing, where they were responsible for coordinating a staff of eight reporters and writing stories on local and state government, health care and the environment. In 2010, they became a Web Applications Developer for The Cabezon Group, where they used .NET and SQL to build and maintain websites and databases, primarily for FEMA's Assistance to Firefighters Grants program. From 2013 to 2018, they worked as a Software Engineer and Software Engineering Lead for Connections Education. Steve then moved on to Cipher | Competitive Strategy & Technology as a Senior Software Engineer before joining FEI Systems as a Lead Application Developer in 2019. Currently, they are a Senior Software Engineer at CreditXpert.

Steve Nery obtained a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Classical Civilizations from Denison University in 2003. Steve then went on to earn a Master's degree in Journalism from Northwestern University in 2005. In 2015, they obtained certifications from Pluralsight in Developer to Manager, Introduction to Leadership and Management for Developers, and C# Interfaces. In 2014, they obtained a certification in Mobile First Responsive Web Design from Pluralsight. In 2020, they obtained a Certified SAFe® 5 Practitioner certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. and a Certified ScrumMaster certification from Scrum Alliance in 2015. Steve also obtained certifications in Lessons from Real World .NET Code Reviews and Structuring JavaScript Code from Pluralsight.
