Xiangru Chen is an experienced engineering leader currently serving as the VP of Engineering at Cresta since November 2021, where responsibilities include building innovative solutions. Previously, Xiangru held the position of Senior Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead Manager at Google from October 2013 to October 2021, playing a pivotal role as a founding engineer and tech lead of Vertex AI, while also leading the Vertex AI Core Infrastructure team. Additionally, Xiangru contributed to the Google Payment Platform as a Senior Software Engineer, overseeing the development of a next-generation purchase flow. Earlier academic engagements include roles as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Koblenz-Landau and Research Assistant positions at IBM Research. Xiangru holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
