John Fifield

John Fifield is a highly experienced technical adviser with over five decades in the cement and construction industries. Currently serving as Technical Adviser at CRH since 1989, John leads efforts in product innovation, best practice, and reducing carbon footprints globally, including improvements in mix designs and curing methods. Previously, as Technical Director at Anchor Roof Tiles, John was instrumental in developing patented lightweight concrete roof tiles and roofing accessories. John’s career also includes significant roles as Development Manager and Works Chemist at Tunnel Cement, where efforts focused on manufacturing efficiency and product consistency, and as a Research Chemist, where John advanced analytical testing methods and contributed to various BSI committees. Academic qualifications include an MRSC in Chemistry from South East Essex College of Technology and an HNC in Industrial Administration from Southend Polytechnic.
