CRiS is the Central Registration and Identification Scheme. 
CRiS has been focused on Leisure Vehicles and is proud to be the National Register for UK touring caravan keepers, similar to the DVLA. 
CRiS is well-known and recognised by the regulatory bodies, insurance companies and the Police.  
CRiS holds both ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certification. 
CRiS consists of two elements - database registration and a unique VIN identification. 
CRiS continues to successfully register Leisure vehicles. All touring caravans manufactured since 1992 by NCC members have been recorded on the CRiS Database by their unique 17 digit vehicle identification number (VIN). This VIN and the caravan description are recorded on the touring caravan registration document – vital to prove the Leisure Vehicle's registered keeper. As part of an enhanced Leisure Vehicle offering, a CRiS registration also included an improved theft deterrent and identification system called VIN CHIP. All UK NCC touring caravan manufacturer members adopted VIN CHIP as standard from 2016 onwards models. VIN CHIP can be retro-fitted on pre 2016 models. 
CRiS has its own Contact Centre in Chippenham, Wiltshire.  
CRiS has partnered with VIN CHIP to broaden the registration and identification to include new asset classes including Construction, Plant and Agricultural Machinery. 
VIN CHIP, now offers the latest multi-layered security marking and technology, which already has long-range scanner reading capabilities of over 10m. 
VIN CHIP is unique in offering both visible and invisible markings containing the individual Asset's specific VIN which is recorded on the CRiS Database. 
Tamper evident labels deter criminals and hinder unlawful re-sale. 
The covert long-range electronic RFiD chips are easily traceable by Police for identification - accessing the CRiS Database and aiding a faster recovery of stolen assets.
