Andrew Dowd is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in enzyme and protein research. Currently serving as the Lead Research Scientist at Croda since June 2021, Andrew previously held positions at BBI Solutions as a Senior Development Scientist and at B.A.C. Biotech as a Scientist and Founder, where consultancy focused on enzyme and protein characterization. Andrew's earlier roles include Principal Scientist at MBio, leading analytical development for biofuels and food processing enzymes, and Research Scientist at Unilever, managing enzyme characterization projects for homecare products. A strong academic background includes a PhD in Biotechnology, a Master’s in Biochemistry, and a Bachelor’s in Biotechnology, all obtained from Dublin City University.
